This selection deals with the mystery of Cyclops. Gordon discovers many elements of civilization that he has been seeking, but he is bothered by the seemingly out-of-place, functioning computer. The citizens of Corvallis are ill-equiped to deal with the impending danger. Gordon realizes that military strength is necessary.
