Electronic Submission Procedure

When electronic submission of work is required, accurately following these directions will keep your work from being trashed or rejected.

1.         Electronic submission may be on CD, flashdisk, floppy, zip, or an e-mail to my domain address: dbraden@dbraden.org

2.         Once the document you wish to submit is finished, do a ÒSave AsÓ to create a second copy of the document (pay attention to where the copy is saved) and re-title the copy as follows:

[assignmentname]first2letterslastname[alphalistingofgroupnames]period#

Ordinarily your document title will be not longer (obviously shorter if less than four authors are involved) than the following:

3.         The ÒSave AsÓ copy must be saved in RTF which means Rich Text Format. This format can be read by any word processor.

4.         The ÒSave AsÓ copy should be then copied to your electronic medium (CD, flashdisk, floppy, zip). Make sure it is a viable disk and formatted in a common format. Students do try to foist off a dead disk or one that does not contain the correct document for the technological version of ÒThe dog ate my homework.Ó

5.         When an e-mail submission is required, do not copy the RTF document and paste it into the e-mail. Instead, identify the subject of the e-mail as the title of the RTF document and do an attachment. The attachment will be the document saved as an RTF document. Depending on where you saved the ÒSave AsÓ document you may have to navigate your disk to select the proper document.

6.         Send the e-mail.
